Michael Nesmith Song (of the Monkees)
Released 1967
Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.

“Daily Nightly” is a song, written by Michael Nesmith of The Monkees, which appeared on their fourth album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd., in 1967, and was featured in two second-season episodes of their television series, “A Fairy Tale” and “Monkees Blow Their Minds”.

The record was arguably the very first rock recording to feature the Moog synthesizer, programmed by musician Paul Beaver and played by Micky Dolenz, who was the third owner of a Moog.

The lyrics are a veiled commentary on the Sunset Strip curfew riots, which occurred in Hollywood, California in late 1966.

The night has gone and taken it’s infractions
While saddened eyes hope there will be a next one
Sahara signs look down upon a world that glitters glibly
And mountain sides put arms around
The unsuspecting city
Second hands that minds have slowed are moving even faster

Toward bringing down someone who’s found
The questions, but no answers.

Questions, But No Answers – Dedication

In Memoriam – Freddie – Bio

Farrokh “Freddie” Mercury
Born September 5, 1946 – Died November 24, 1991
British singer, songwriter, record producer, lead vocalist of the rock band Queen.

In Memoriam – Freddie – Note

Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Killer Queen”, “Somebody to Love”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, and “We Are the Champions”.

Mercury was born of Parsi descent in the Sultanate of Zanzibar, and grew up there and in India before moving with his family to Middlesex, England, in his teens.

He formed Queen in 1970 with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor.

Mercury and his inner circle of colleagues and friends continually denied the stories of his illness.

It has been suggested that Mercury could have helped AIDS awareness by speaking earlier about his illness.

Mercury kept his condition private to protect those closest to him; May later confirmed that Mercury had informed the band of his illness much earlier.

Filmed in May 1991, the music video for “These Are the Days of Our Lives” features a very thin Mercury in his final scenes in front of the camera.

The rest of the band were ready to record when Mercury felt able to come into the studio, for an hour or two at a time.

(Brian) May said of (Freddie) Mercury: “He just kept saying. ‘Write me more. Write me stuff. I want to just sing this and do it and when I am gone you can finish it off.’ He had no fear, really.”

On 22 November 1991, Mercury called Queen’s manager Jim Beach to his Kensington home to prepare a public statement, which was released the following day:

Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS.

I felt it correct to keep this information private to date to protect the privacy of those around me.

However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease.

My privacy has always been very special to me and I am famous for my lack of interviews.

Please understand this policy will continue.

On the evening of 24 November 1991, just over 24 hours after issuing that statement, Mercury died at the age of 45 at his home in Kensington.

“He Upset People” – Bio

Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones
Born February 28, 1942 – Died July 3, 1969
Founder and Original Leader of the Rolling Stones

“He Upset People” – Note

wayne-pa-probate-lawyers-trust-living-brian-jones-2

Although he was originally the leader of what was supposed to be a blues-oriented band, Brian Jones’s fellow band members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards took over the band’s musical direction, especially after they became a successful songwriting team.

Jones developed a serious drug problem over the years and his role in the band steadily diminished.

The band asked Jones to leave the Rolling Stones in June 1969 and guitarist Mick Taylor took his place in the group. Jones died less than a month later by drowning in the swimming pool at his home on Cotchford Farm in Hartfield, East Sussex.

“He Upset People” – Note

I always felt very sorry for Brian

he was two things

he was not very nice

and he upset people very easily

he wasn’t be pleasant on me

The 27 Club

The 27 Club
Recognized by the death of Kurt Cobain
Popular musicians, artists and/or actors that have died at age 27.

The 27 Club – Note

The 27 Club has become one of the most elusive and remarkably tragic coincidences in rock & roll history. The term became widely known after Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994, with rock fans connecting his age to that of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones, and Jimi Hendrix – though it was notable to fans in the early 1970s when those four visionaries died within just two years of each other.

When Amy Winehouse passed away at age 27 in 2011, it attracted even more attention to the significance of the age. While the club has been largely connected to musicians, it has expanded since, as many young actors and artists have lost their lives due to everything from addiction to suicide to freak accidents.

“At My Most Beautiful” – Dedictation

… this post is dedicated to early morning coffee, late day T, and parallel lives…

I’ve found a way to make you
I’ve found a way
A way to make you smile

I read bad poetry
Into your machine
I save your messages
Just to hear your voice
You always listen carefully
To awkward rhymes
You always say your name
Like I wouldn’t know it’s you
At your most beautiful

I’ve found a way to make you
I’ve found a way
A way to make you smile

wayne-pa-probate-lawyers-trust-living-at-my-most-beautiful-2

At my most beautiful
I count your eyelashes secretly
With every one, whisper, “I love you”
I let you sleep
I know your closed eye watching me
Listening
I thought I saw a smile

I’ve found a way to make you
I’ve found a way
A way to make you smile
